heading to rome….

Dear friends,

I’m packing my bags for yet another trip to Rome tomorrow. I’ll be attending the annual meetings of the International Organization of Marianist Lay Communities and the World Marianist Family Council. If I can, I’ll try to write a post or two while I’m gone….but know I probably won’t. The days will be full, and I’ll be battling the old bugger, jet lag! (I’m in awe of folks who traipse across time zones effortlessly. I’m a real wimp in that department…)

On Sunday, we hope to make a trip to St. Peter’s to visit the Basilica and attend the Sunday Angelus. I’m planning on spending time at the tomb of Blessed John XXIII. I want to ask the good man to keep praying for our church. May she have the faith and courage to open wide her doors and windows to the world, and invite in the glorious breezes of the Holy Spirit.

Ciao! 🙂

  1. Safe journey my friend and blessings on your meetings. Leave time for wine, pasta and gelato…. the important things in life!

  2. May your meetings awaken the Church once again to all her deepest longings to be reborn!

  3. Thanks so much! Joanne, I like how you think. My favorite treat in Rome is Gorgonzola, with a big hunk of fresh Italian bread….and, of course, wine! I tend to get a bit greedy with it. 😉

Ray, AMEN!!! Here’s to the Spirit a blowin freely through the Church we all love….and here’s to all our wee efforts along the way.

In gratitude for so many kindred spirits in my life!
